It is with heavy heart to announce the passing of Firefighter/EMT Francisco J. Figueroa at the early age of 28. He has proudly served Hardee County Fire Rescue for nearly two years, and he has also protected us all with his active service in the Marine Corps Reserve. Francisco has departed us today due to a tragic motor vehicle crash, but his memory will continue to live on through each of us.
Hardee County Professional Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 3471 was organized October 22, 1992. We are an organization of 39 dual certified Fire Fighter/EMTs and Firefighter/Paramedics protecting all of Hardee County's 637 square miles. Hardee County has a population of over 27,700 year round residents, which increases drastically during the winter months.
